Shire Jamac Model Public Secondary School Inauguration

On 22 April, 2024 in an auspicious event filled with joy and anticipation, Shire Jamac Model Public Secondary School celebrated the official handover and inauguration of its newly constructed building. The occasion brought together esteemed guests, education officials, students, and community members to celebrate this significant milestone.

The handover ceremony commenced with a tour by the government officials at Shire Jamac Model Public Secondary School Compound. The event symbolized the culmination of dedicated effort and the realization of a shared vision to provide a state-of-the-art learning environment for the students.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of distinguished guests, including government officials such as: Mohamed Mohamud Elmi, the Deputy Minister of Galmudug MoCHE, Muhyidiin Adan Ali, Mayor of Abudwaq, Albashir Elmi Hassan, Director General of Galmudug MoCHE, Yasin Abdi Jama, Minister of Health of Galmudug, Fardowsa Yusuf Ciid, Member of Regional Parliament of Abudwak, Abduwahid Elmi Omar (Gonjeh), Former Federal Government Senator for Abudwak, Mohamud Mohamed Dirir, Director of Somali National University-Galmudug Campus, local leaders, and representatives from educational institutions.

In his keynote address, HE Mohamed Mohamud Elmi, Deputy Minister of MoCHE, emphasized the importance of investing in education infrastructure and spoke about the transformative power of quality education. He applauded the commitment shown by Shire Jamac Model Public Secondary School in providing a conductive learning space to nurture the next generation of leaders. The school was constructed by CISP through SETS II Project funded by EU.

Visitors and attendees had the opportunity to tour the campus and explore the modern facilities: the state-of-the-art classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, library, sports facilities, and other amenities that showcased the school's commitment to providing a holistic and enriching educational experience to its students.

 

"We are delighted to announce the successful completion and handover of the first secondary school constructed by CISP with contribution of EU and support of the Ministry of Culture, Heritage, and Education (MoCHE) in Abudwaq. This occasion marks a significant milestone in our journey towards providing quality education to the community. The establishment of Shire Jamac Model Public Secondary School stands as a testament of our commitment to inclusiveness and ensuring equal educational opportunities for all,” said Albashir, Director General of Galmudug MoCHE.

Mohamed Haji, the Education Program Manager of CISP highlighted the remarkable journey of the Shire Jamac Model Public Secondary School. He witnessed the dedication and hard work that has gone into making this school a reality through work done as per approved design.

During the event, Mr. Adan Abdi Ali, the National Program Coordinator expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Ministry of education of Galmudug for their unwavering support and dedication. He emphasized the school's commitment to maintaining excellence in education and creating a nurturing environment that fosters academic growth and holistic development and called for the community members to fully support the school.

"We are proud to introduce the Shire Jamac Model Public Secondary School, a public educational institution constructed specifically for the Abudwak community. Our primary objective is to provide quality education to the community free of charge, with a strong emphasis on inclusiveness and accessibility.” Said Mohamed Mohamed Eli, Deputy Minister of Galmudug MoCHE.
