EU Culture Project in Mogadishu - Logo Competition

The “Reviving culture, building peace” project is led by CISP in partnership with Oxfam and other stakeholders in Mogadishu. We are looking for a logo to be a symbol for this project! The project will promote Somali cultural heritage as a means to increase sense of citizenship, promote sustainable development and contribute to promotion of peace through support to valorization of culture amongst the community.

The logo should be
● Culturally sensitive for Somalia
● A graphical representation of the theme “Safeguarding Somali cultural heritage as a means to promote peace“
● Easy to understand even for people from different social economic backgrounds
● Appealing to everyone

Submit a one page profile of yourself or your company as well as a short explanation of what your logo means.  The person with the most creative and suitable logo will be awarded with $500.

Deadline for submission is 11th July 2014

Somali designers are encouraged to participate

Submit files according to the following specifications.
1. A single image file including both black and white and color versions of logo on a white background (no transparency), in either .gif or .png format, placed in a 400x600 pixel format with a resolution of 72 dpi.
2. A single multi-page .pdf set for high resolution.
Entries not meeting these criteria will not be accepted. Only one submission per designer or studio will be accepted.

Copyright and Patents

By entering this competition, the designer assigns the rights to CISP and Partners in “Reviving culture, building peace” project to use each submission for promotion of this project. Unless a submission is selected as the winner, each designer retains all intellectual property considerations associated with their submission.
● Entries should not violate any intellectual property, including, but not limited to patents, trademarks and copyrights. By submitting their entry the designer certifies that the entry is original, created solely by the competitor and no other person or entity holds rights to the entry and its components.
● In consideration for the prize money received, the winner agrees to transfer all applicable intellectual property considerations to CISP, Oxfam, and its partners.
● The winner is responsible for any statutory deductions           
● CISP’s decision is final
