Climate

Arid to semi-arid, prone to severe draught and floods. There are four seasons:

  • Jilaal (December to March): warm and dry,
  • Gu (April to June): main rainy season,
  • Haggai (July to September): cold, cloudy and dry,
  • Deyr (October to December): secondary rainy season.

Livelihood
  • Livestock: camel, sheep, goats and cattle,
  • Agriculture: sorghum, maize,
  • Minor fisheries.
